A'Chruach
In May 2008, Infinis (through its subsidiary Novera Energy Limited) received planning consent for its proposed A’Chruach 20 turbine wind farm in an area of commercial forestry at Kilmichael forest, approximately 5km west north-west of Minard and 10km north north-east of Lochgilphead in Mid Argyll, Scotland.
Since the granting of consent, extensive wind monitoring on site has indicated that the output of the development could be significantly improved through revisions to the layout of the turbines. A new layout was designed which optimised the location and number of the turbines to make better use of the wind resource. This layout was formally presented to Argyll & Bute Council as part of an EIA scoping request in August 2011. Following refinements based on scoping responses and other studies, a finalised version of this 21 turbine scheme has now been submitted as the basis of a planning application to Argyll & Bute Council for consideration. A copy of the Non-Technical Summary of the Environmental Statement will shortly be available for download at the bottom of this page, along with a newsletter that formed part of the pre-application consultation process.
If you have any questions or would like to register your interest in the proposal, please email us at: achruachwindfarm@infinis.com. Alternatively our general contact details can be found above.
If you wish to make a formal representation to the local authority on the scheme this should be submitted directly to them.
