Beacon Moor
Infinis has been undertaking feasibility investigations to assess the potential for a wind farm at Beacon Moor, on land between the villages of New Marske and Upleatham. The site has been found to have great potential for generating power due to high average wind speeds.
Only sites that meet our stringent environmental and corporate responsibility requirements will be progressed and our interpretation of the results from the investigations to date is that although the site may have potential, the most appropriate scale of wind farm for the site would fall below the minimum size threshold for the Infinis wind portfolio. For that reason we have now ceased further site investigations.
We would like to thank the local people, groups, officers and community representatives that we have met during our initial site investigations and community consultation. Their local knowledge and scrutiny of the proposed development has been invaluable in helping us to understand the constraints of this site, and reach the conclusion to cease any further development at Beacon Moor.
