Burnhead

In March 2009 Infinis applied to East Ayrshire Council for planning permission to construct and operate an onshore wind farm at Burnhead approximately 2km north of Dalmellington, East Ayrshire and 16km east of Ayr.

The Burnhead wind farm proposal comprises 19 turbines with a maximum ground to blade tip height of 100m. The maximum generating capacity of the proposal is 47.5MW.

In the intervening period since 2009 Infinis has been in dialogue with East Ayrshire Council, local statutory consultees and non statutory consultees. Based on their suggestions and the feedback gained at the public exhibitions Infinis decided that a revised proposal would address the concerns raised.

In June 2011 scoping letters were sent to the statutory consultees and a public exhibition was held in Dalmellington in August 2011 to update the community and gain feedback on the revised layout. The final application was submitted to East Ayrshire Council in October 2011.

A copy of the full application is available for public viewing at East Ayrshire Council offices, Lugar, Cumnock, KA18 3JQ, application reference 11/0868/PP. A Non-Technical Summary of the Environmental Statement can be accessed below.
