Wind
Generating power from the wind
Wind represents an unending source of power, without the creation of dangerous emissions. Power generated from wind turbines displaces power which would otherwise be generated from polluting fossil generation and hence reduces the emissions from the power generation sector.
Onshore and offshore wind
Wind farms can be placed both on land and in the sea. The advantages of onshore wind farms are that they tend to be cheaper to install and provide local, distributed generation of power.
