Unscheduled Field Technician (North)

Rotating shift pattern - 40 hours a week

North region - based around Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington, Wigan, St Helens, Macclesfield, Ellesmere Port, Chester, Runcorn, Northwich and Crewe

Overview

You will be an expert at tackling breakdowns, rising to the challenge of having to fault-find and getting to the root cause of problems. This is a constantly evolving role that means scope to explore a wide variety of career possibilities is great.

All we ask is that you can commit to a five-week working shift pattern that includes one weekend, and then enjoy a week off - giving you more time to spend doing what you love to do.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Performing unscheduled maintenance repairs on a fleet of CLM, CMM and Power Response generation sets, gas plants and Balance of Plant
  • Ensuring that all work dispatched by the Logistics Centre is carried out safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard
  • Acting on work instructions in Maximo (asset management system) from the Logistics Centre, and reporting your location and job status on a timely basis
  • When required, monitoring the work of contractors who are attending the repair of power generation equipment, gas process plant and Balance of Plant
  • Identifying early warning signs of operational problems and/or potential breakdowns, and raising emergency and corrective maintenance jobs within Maximo as appropriate
  • Keeping up to date with gas field issues and liaising closely with technicians in the gas team, working to assist each other in resolving any issues affecting generation/compliance
  • Maintaining vehicles, tools and equipment in a safe, clean and functional condition
  • Inputting data into Maximo and other database systems
  • Maintaining a culture of best practice within Infinis by attending internal/external training courses as appropriate
  • Ensuring you are qualified and trained for the tasks you undertake, and complying with company procedures, HSQE policies and relevant legislation

Basic qualifications

  • Engineering, mechanical, vehicle, manufacturing or electrical qualification an advantage
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Confident using laptop, mobile and technical programs
