Power Purchase Agreements

Power Purchase Agreements, or PPAs, are long-term contracts between electricity generators and business buyers.

There are two main technology types associated with power purchase:

  • Baseload renewables – which includes landfill gas, hydro and biomass
  • Intermittent renewables – including wind, wave, and solar power.

Infinis offers baseload PPAs through captured methane and intermittent solar power, and flexible generation through our power response service. This means we can provide power purchase agreements that fit almost any customer demand profile.

Our expert in-house commercial team is well versed in developing PPAs. We have longstanding relationships with energy offtakers, blue chip corporates, utility companies and other organisations.

Benefits of PPAs

Corporate power purchase agreements provide fixed energy prices in the long-term – which means you can predict spend for 10-15 years or more.

If you’re looking for ways to transition to net zero, PPAs can support your environmental, social and governance (ESG) practice. A useful starting point is to look at securing import power from a green source.

If you have specific electricity demands over a set period, we can shape the power through baseload power purchase agreements.

Risk management is another key benefit. At Infinis, we design PPAs to spread risk over multiple sites, and multiple engines. That means there is no trip risk; as a consumer, you’re guaranteed to get power from us.
